The IWTBH Fall Shoe Guide: Black Ankle Boots

It wouldn’t be fall/winter without these forever staples, am I right? There are so many good styles and all of them go with just about anything. I am really loving a cool Western rock ‘n roll deal as so perfectly illustrated in these side-zip guys from Mango. So good with the flared jeans, and my favorite 6397 skinnies!

These cap toes from J. Crew are serving some major Chanel vibes.

If you’re more into a chunky silhouette, how about these suede jodhpurs?

I love the slighty squared-off toe and sleek leather which make these & Other Stories booties feel a bit like fancy menswear.

For those who are searching for a lace-up version, these polished lug-sole combat boots are a great option.

Aside from the obvious jeans, Everlane’s pull-on cowboy shorties would work really well with floral dresses too.

The circular heel and back zipper on these Rag & Bones make them extra chic in a Margiela kind of way.

I’ve been crushing on A.P.C.’s Françoise Hardy-esque  Joey boots since I laid eyes on them a couple of seasons ago. p.s. picturing them (and actually all the boots here!) with striped jeans like these Nili Lotans on big sale.

Isabel Marant’s wood-heeled version has become a French-girl classic year after year.

And how amazing are these Johnny Cash ones from Mango? I am already planning many outfits around them!

    1. I have those jeans and they run really small. I got 25, usually wear 0 in NL pants, 25 or even 24 in other jeans brands, and I really wish I’d exchanged these for a 26 before it was too late.
