Ten French Classics on Sale

Every Parisian woman knows there are certain iconic pieces that can take you everywhere, in many situations, pretty much until they become threadbare. And of course it’s more fun to find said things that are significantly marked down! I think it’s appropriate to kick things off with a cool belted trench ringing in at just under $70. Plus they’ve styled it so perfectly masculine-feminin, complete with with the collar up, showing the fun navy lining, and casually paired with boyfriend jeans and sneakers, exactly the way someone strolling done the Rue Saint-Honoré might wear it.

A simple leather bag like this stellar navy specimen is both super chic and kind of invisible (in the best way).

A tomboy-ish Breton tee French-i-fies everything from floral skirts to jeans or trousers. I throw mine on like a sweater over a tee on slightly chillier summer days, too.

A fancy-classic watch elevates just about anything, and this one is a nice cross between Cartier and Hermés for a fraction of the price.

Don’t forget the un-fussy, slightly boyish jeans, like these great ones from Re/Done.

It’s hard to imagine a French woman without a pair of ballet flats in her closet, and I would love this slightly edgy pair with gray jeans and a black or white tee (here’s a great set of both).

Silk button-downs are an easy way to elevate jeans, and this pretty version from Equipment adds a little shot of femme.

All the cool girls know Jerome Dreyfuss (aka Isabel MArant’s husband) makes some of the coolest leather goods, and this little wallet is just the right size for paring things down.

You can’t throw a rock in Paris without hitting a woman in this classic French army jacket. But, there’s nothing like a polished Saint Laurent-esque version just this to wear in lieu of a blazer. An old school chunky gold (or silver) mariner-link bracelet like this looks rich in an Hermés way, with a watch or just alone.

  1. I just finished watching a Belgian series on Prime, Rough Justice and the lead actress Hilde de Baerdemaker https://theeurotvplace.com/2018/03/euro-tv-to-watch-intriguing-belgian-crime-drama-rough-justice/
wore all these pieces of course she wore high boots all the time, and she even had a tight denim vest. I just drooled over her acting and her fabulous wardrobe (dressed by a veteran of movies) for the entire time. She looked like the editors at French Vogue, even better. Something about these women, they just carry it off effortlessly. She was amazing. Great post, thank you
