IWTBH Combos: Jeans and Sweaters

Since it’s pretty much all I wear lately, (and I’m sure it’s the same for many of you), today’s outfits are made up of these easy pieces that make up the perfect casual winter uniform. And I’ve added some shoes because I know you like that! So let’s start with this chic Nili Lotan open neck polo that looks right at home tucked into the wider jeans, with pointy black boots and that great belt. And now for some more ideas:

J. Crew’s cashmere Breton number goes perfectly with cuffed tomboy jeans, and sweet Ferragamo pumps add an element of surprise (I used to have black leather ones that I wore with my Martin jeans and favorite faded Harley tee).

Kule’s black-cardigan-with-a-twist looks right at home with inky black Levi’s and fleece-lined Doc Martens.

A slightly retro orange turtleneck is just right tucked into vintage-y sailor jeans. Add a heeled ballet slipper for beatnik vibes.

This great intense purple fisherman pullover is calling out for some faded gray jeans and cool white boots.

A super-fuzzy wrap sweater and white jeans equal a match made in heaven. All-white Stan Smiths seem right (and comfortable!) here.

Everlane’s collegiate cable cardigan needs a little toughening up, and J Brand black cropped jeans do the trick. When in doubt, just add Black No. 6 Old School clogs.

  1. Thanks for a new idea as to how to wear Ferragamo pumps. I found some at a thrift store for $15, and they are a surprisingly delightful addition to so many outfits.

  2. I LOVE it when you do these combos! But are people really wearing “hard pants” (new term for me!) right now?

    1. My friend calls them “hard pants” too! That’s so funny, I feel well dressed now when I wear something with a zipper and buttons. How my standards have fallen.

    1. I’m sorry! I was just trying to ask if you knew if those specific jeans, or just Agolde jeans in general ran true to size. Sorry for the confusing question!

  3. I love this post because the jeans and a sweater look is the epitome of glamour for me these days. Those vintage-y sailor jeans are so sweet. I need those now. As always, thank you!

  4. Just LOVE when you do these posts, and yes, I am wearing sweater + jeans almost every day right now! Thanks for the inspiration because I would wear every one of these combos.

  5. Thank you for the inspiration. In your main picture, the outfit in the middle, the one with the camel and flared jeans. I’m looking for jeans just like those! No small pockets in the front please.
