When master curator Erica Tanov had her giant eponymous store in NYC’s Nolita, it was one of my usual stops on any given shopping day. The minute you walked in you were bathed in luxurious bohemian inspiration. So I was pretty sad when she shut it down — and happy that she resurfaced at ABC Carpet & Home. She’s also got two more shops in Marin and Berkeley, which I plan on visiting on my next trip to San Francisco, all filled with everything you didn’t even know you wanted, from jewelry to her own clothing line to the coolest home stuff from a round the world. Here are her latest favorites.

1.  Samantha Grisdale Bag: “It’s the perfect blend of glamour and natural beauty.  The hand-cast hardware and supple leather makes each bag feel special, while remaining incredibly practical and prefect for daily use.”
2. Kahina Brightening Face Serum. “The smell of this serum makes me swoon. I look forward to my morning and nighttime ritual, which includes this face serum, making my skin feel soft and supple. I literally float to my bed, or my first morning meeting!”

3. Michele Keeler Turkish towels: “These are so soft, super absorbent and luxurious. The vibrant colors and patterns really liven up the spirits. And the tassels bring a touch of old-fashioned glamour to the bathroom.”
4. Erica Tanov Lola slip dress: “I love the weightless silk of this dress.  The Lola remains at the heart of my collection after more than 20 years. It’s essential to any wardrobe. It’s so versatile, you can wear it under anything, sleep in it, or double up with two of them (in a contrasting color), and wear them going out. It makes me feel beautiful and feminine.”

 5. Satomi Kawakita ring : “This is one of my favorite rings, one which I have been coveting for a long time. It’s so beautifully crafted, simple and delicate, yet striking. I would wear it every day.”

How timely! I was just scoping out her website yesterday after seeing several pieces of hers that I loved. I’m now an Instagram fan and look forward to her posts. Kahina was on my wish list, but it’s moved to a MUST!

Thank you for the post about Erica…she is so naturally lovely and talented…

and us “other” coast girls get a thrill when we get to play in our own backyard, though we love dreaming wistfully about you all on the other side in that great big city…
