Top 5: Alyson Eastman, Designer

I first met Alyson when she was one of the fun crew who worked at Warm in Nolita. But then I blinked and she moved on, becoming a designer of incredible leather goods, including some of the most glamorous jackets I’ve ever seen. She’s mostly inspired by her city life-meets-Washington State farm upbringing which means everything super chic but unpretentious and wearable at the same time. Everything is made right here in  New York City and Los Angeles from luxury leathers sourced from around the world. And I’m really excited to share that she will be at the holiday market I’ve curated selling jackets and little leather pouches — it’s this weekend at City Point in Brooklyn so do try to make it!

 1. Sandalwood Seed Oil “I first discovered this product in Paris at Buly, one of the oldest apothecaries in Europe. I mix this oil with any body lotion or cream and its anti-inflammatory properties help replenish the skin and, I swear, get rid of cellulite! The sandalwood scent is also one of my faves.”
2. A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle “I have read this book now at least three times and every time I learn something new. It provided me with a great awakening that we really do have the power to control our suffering and focus on living in the now.”
3.  Cire Trudon Candle- Rose Poivree “Another Paris find – My favorite  scent from the royal candle manufacturer founded in 1643. This is the one you will always find burning in our design studio.”
 4. Chanel Lipstick in Rouge Feu “Makeup isn’t really my favorite thing so I often just apply lipstick to make myself feel more “put together.” This color is the perfect mix of red and orange and I love it!”
5.  Kimara Ahnert Camphor Mask “My NYC facial technician introduced me to this mask many moons ago and I have been using it ever since. I used to struggle with breakouts and this has changed my life. It’s a pore minimizing clay mask that clarifies – it’s magic! I use it twice a week and my face stays clear because of it. It’s also good as a spot treatment. “

Wow, now I feel like I urgently need to check out that book! Also, the oil, candle and lip color all seem timeless, and perfect for every woman. What a relatable list of faves….and well timed for the season! Lovely.
