The Grass is Always Greener in Your Friend’s Beauty Closet

So I was over at my friend Anne’s house over the holiday (here she is looking effortlessly pretty in her plain white tee), and sleepovers are always a fun opportunity to try someone else’s beauty stash. Even in high school she always had the good stuff — her mom bought glamorous and exotic products while my house had a strictly Neutrogena clear soap and plain ChapStick vibe. Anyway, I was digging around for some new excitement and found it in her super effective shampoo and conditioner (I conveniently forgot my own and my hair looked great during our stay!), and then some. And now she will walk us through her top picks.

Kevin Murphy Young Again shampoo and conditioner “This stuff makes my hair feel soft but not flat—which is amazing when you have three hairs on your head like I do!”
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion  “I’ve used this since my teen years (my mother bought me the “set”) and it feels good on my skin, has always done the job easily —without gimmicks. Plus I am nostalgic for its slightly anticeptic smell.”

Chanel Le Vernis 18 Rouge Noir “It’s a very 1920’s color that will always be classic in a non-traditional way—I only use it on my toes, when they need a little dressing up.”

Dr Hauschka Regenerating Eye Cream “My favorite since it soaks in and just makes you look better —not greasy. Only for day — at night I use the serum because cream at night makes you puffier!”

Christian Dior Creme de Rose Lip Plumping Balm “I never liked lipstick on me, so this clear rose balm makes my lips look better than any old lip balm and it’s subtly beautiful.”
Clinique Glossy Mascara in Brown—”So natural looking!—it darkens and enhances my lashes without that clumpy ‘mascara’ look.”

I love that Anne included multiple Clinique products! I feel like Clinique is underappreciated in this day and age with so many “sexy” products out there – for me, they have always been tried and true!

Amen re: the Clinique praise. I’ve got their Almost Lipstick in Black Cherry and couldn’t love it more.

Ahhhh…Kevin Murphy hair products are glorious! My stylist in MN used them and said he had the best “schooling” for hairstylists, too. They are in my cart!

Ok, I live in MN and need to ask if you’ll share your stylists info! I currently go to a ‘curly’ salon but am still looking for the ultimate haircut!

I love her and still miss Martin! That store was amazeballs. And her clothes are no longer available via the website. So so sad.
