The Edit: Zadig & Voltaire

Even though it sometimes skews a little young (skulls on the backs of tops, lots of studs), I’m still a sucker for the French rock ‘n roll vibe. Right now there are lots of sharp pieces mixed with romantic ruffles which equals pure seventies cool. I will start with a cute shrunken red blazer  and the matching pants, which are great alone or together as a fun, unconventional suit.

An olive officer jacket is just the right kind of oversized and would make a perfect spring ‘coat’.

A pretty, lacy slipdress is a great addition to any wardrobe. Wear it over a turtleneck or white tee (à la ’90s), or alone with a big cozy cardigan or tailored blazer.

This ruffle shirt is one part Adam Ant and one part Marianne Faithfull and just the right thing to beat the mid-winter outfit blahs.
A cute pair or army pants can take you through every season for years, and this pair has a particularly good cinched ankle.

They’ve always done their version of a Rolex and this custom-looking pink-faced version is super rich-looking and fun.
The subtle monochromatic camo print on a chic zip jacket is what gives it that “Zadig” edge.

I’m loving the skinny white trousers, which make great work pants and would look right with Birks or sneakers when you’re off duty, too.
This chunky gold heart ring is such an amazing piece in the vein of  Cartier.

A beautiful vintage-y ruffled dress evokes pure rock ‘n roll romance.
