The Edit: Bloomingdale’s

Time to hit this classic New York City staple again! Whenever I think of the 59th Street landmark, I dream of those cute underpants I had in Junior High with Bloomie’s on the back that we bought at the Short Hills Mall store (why oh why don’t they make them anymore?!) Anyway, at least they still do the classic canvas tote that mimics the iconic shopping bags.

I am hankering for some work-ish boots and this pair is just utilitarian enough, but in a pretty olive suede, so you can actually wear them with nicer stuff.
Side slits on an otherwise simple black sweater let you show off something cute underneath — a striped sailor shirt, maybe?

Theory’s sexy red trousers have a bit of a ’90s Gucci vibe.
MZ Wallace’s cute quilted bag just feels so classic, understated and completely versatile.

Since Bloomie’s makes me think of the glamorous ’70s, I bring you a silky mocha cami/tap pants set,
If you remember the chunky silver Robert Lee Morris craze, his store on West Broadway and and the iconic knuckle ring once worn by Brooke Shields, you will be psyched for these perfect hoops.

A twisted-front bodysuit is just screaming for a pair of boyish jeans now and an Indian wrap skirt later.

Speaking of cute undies. I cannot seem to find day-of-the-week underpants. I was never allowed to have them as a kid (not sure why. Moms). But I would love them now. Have you seen them anywhere?

Stella McCartney has the cutest embroidered ones (slightly pricey but so worth it!)

LOVE tap sets! They’re my favorite sexy, but comfy lingerie.

LOVE tap sets! They’re my favorite sexy, yet comfy lingerie. It’s what I imagine someone mysterious and “knowing” would wear– like a 70’s Charlotte Rampling.

The black sweater is cute, and while I love your idea of a striped French sailor shirt underneath, it’s got the blouse part attached. Yikes!

Ahhh, the Short Hils Mall, now referring to itself as “The Mall at Short Hills….” Remember when it was only open certain nights a week and had one restaurant – with the wicker swing seats? Sigh. I feel old!

A friend once brought me back a ‘Bloomies’ sweatshirt from her big trip to NYC and I felt so ‘sophisticated’, lol.
