Six Great Forever Pieces

As I was rummaging through my closet yesterday, I really just wanted to put on some well-worn classics because that’s just the kind of mood I’m in. So I grabbed my standby jeans (stay tuned) and threw on a well-worn Iconic French sailor shirt (as seen here on Audrey Tautou) — here’s a bona fide version for your shopping pleasure. And now for the five more.

You can’t beat J. Crew Men’s ‘secret wash’ shirt for classic comfort — the wrinklier the better!
Nothing makes me feel more polished than a good camel coat, and here’s one with a nice big lapel.

Trust me — you will never tire of a chic suede (or black or brown leather) Jodhpur boot which can go Parisian or 100% all-American depending on how you’re feeling
Lately I only ever want to wear my dark A.P.C. jeans that have a teensy bit of stretch but don’t look like they do.

I usually don’t go for a longer strap on a tote but L.L. Bean’s leather one somehow gets away with it. And really, it’s just more practical this way.

I’d order those jeans in a minute if I could fit into them. Love the wash and cut but I’m size 14.

I also would order those jeans if they came in a size 14! It’s my biggest frustration that most high end denim is not available in anything higher than a 30 or a 32. It seems insane given that 67% of American Women are a size 14 or higher that no one wants to make money selling jeans to them.

So true! And especially frustrating when one wants to order from more sustainable/organic brands. God forbid a big woman walks around in someone’s precious niche brand. Boo hiss.

This is why Levi’s will always take my money. They have multiple fits and a zillion washes, including every one I’ve seen on the high end brands. I’ve seen sizes up to 20 in Misses’ departments. I expect they have larger sizes in Women’s departments. The quality is excellent. Washed and dried regularly, they get better and better. I love them. They are usually less than $50, and I have no trouble finding them at Macy*s, J. C. Penney, and Kohl’s. The latter always has SO MUCH STOCK, frequent sales and markdowns, and very easy returns. Levi’s!!! (I don’t work for them, but I should.)

Arrgh, the tote is sold out. But coming back sometime — in black, woo hoo!
