My Uniform: Coralie Langston-Jones

I’ve known Coralie, a design publicist, for years, and she’s always completely cool and a bit bohemian without ever looking like she tried. Her approach to dressing has always been about achieving that perfect mix of high and low, and she’s never without some stellar piece of jewelry. As she puts it, “I am fascinated by process as much as the product itself, which is why I like to mix handcrafted elements with well-constructed minimalist garments. Bringing the two philosophies together makes for a relaxed, off-kilter dynamic.” Here’s a roundup of what she’s into wearing these days.

Dosa embellished shirt “The hand-stitched detailing on this, as well as the Indian hand-spun and woven nature of the fabric, khadi cotton, really lifts the eye and elevates this otherwise simple cotton shirt. The devil is in the details.”
J. Crew cashmere hoodie “This zip sweater is a terrific layering item when it gets chilly, worn underneath your jackets. It also helps to make the jacket look less formal and stuffy.”

Elizabeth and James chalk stripe jacket “The jacket I’m wearing in the photo is vintage Adolfo jacket from Decades, but this one works too. It’s a great tailored item that pulls your look together, without feeling too dressed up.”
R13 Skinny Slouch Jeans “I’ve found the perfect jeans! They are slouchy and skinny at the same time. I love the flattering fit  as well as the slight fading of the fabric. These are my new go-tos.”
Erica Tanov metallic bag “I won’t go anywhere without this!  It looks stunning with everything, and it’s so roomy it can hold my daughters’ toys, and more!”
Pippa Small Mountain Amethyst Tear Drop earrings. “Pippa’s organic approach to working with the natural shape of her ethically sourced stones is what appeals most to me. Even her facets are not uniform or regular.”

Marmol Radziner bronze cuffs “I feel naked if I’m not wearing my cuffs. These handcrafted bracelets look great stacked up your arm.”
Acne Alma boots “These are so practical and comfortable, yet they look cool. I’ve worn these all day standing at work events, without killing my feet.”

She’s so cool looking, of course I bought something. J.Crew is offering a 30% discount today so how could I NOT by the sweater?

Thank you, Andrea. It’s so exciting to see myself on one of my favorite blogs, thrilling, in fact. cx

Everything is fantastic, but which one is the “low”?

    • December 9, 2014

      Not sure what you mean…

Wow, I couldn’t resist the hoodie either at 40% off. I’m a sucker for the “hoodie under a blazer” look. Regarding E’s question about the “low,” I think she means the low in the mix of high/low pieces in Coralie’s look.

Ah — thanks for clarifying! xx
