Guest Beauty Editor: Gita Bass

Gita, a native Australian and now New Yorker, is a super fancy makeup artist who beautifies women like Saoirse Ronan, Tina Fey and Julianne Moore for the red carpet, as well as various editorials with greats like Annie Leibovitz, Patrick Demarchelier and Mark Seliger. But to me she’s just my cool, unpretentious neighbor who hangs out back with her cute husband, son and dog. I figured she knows a thing or two about what we should all be using and, as busy as she is, she so nicely obliged. Thank you, Gita! xx

1. Armani Luminous Silk Foundation “The Rolls Royce of foundations! It glides on seamlessly for a gorgeous lit-from-within- glow. The super lightweight formula feels amazing on the skin and is easily buildable for a more medium coverage. It is an absolute red-carpet must.”
2. Simple Skincare Hydrating Booster “I’m so obsessed with this clever multi-use product. It’s silky and lightweight yet adds intense hydration to thirsty skin. I use it as a primer, mix it with my moisturizer for extra absorption and use it as a spot treatment for dry areas. However you use it, it creates a gorgeous dewy finish and leaves your skin incredibly soft. It’s a must have in both my kit and my purse.”
3. Chanel Inimitable Mascara “This is my everyday go-to mascara and I love it for both a natural and full-on glam lash look. It glides on perfectly, never clumps or flakes and can be built up with ease. It’s also a great option for a waterproof formula as it removes quickly without having to tug at the delicate under-eye area.”
 4. Tom Ford Bronzing Powder “In true Tom Ford fashion, these super lightweight bronzers deliver the most sultry “fresh off the French Riviera” glow. They blend beautifully and instantly warm up the skin. I often use them for eye shadow and blush as well. The matte shades are gorgeous but my favorite is Gold Dust which has just the right amount of iridescence to create a radiant finish that’s not too ‘disco ball’.”
 5. Nars Matte lip Pencils “I’ve loved these  since I started makeup and will never stop using them. They provide the perfect matte lip with the ease of a pencil, yet are super long-lasting and non-drying. If you have five seconds to put on makeup, throw on Dragon Girl and you are good to go.”
6. Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerise “I adore these gorgeous cream shadows and use them for the base of many of my makeup looks. They can be worn alone for a soft creaseless wash of color, and as a base for powder shadow for maximum color impact. The formula is super blendable and the finish is a gorgeous sparkle on the eye thats not too glittery.”
7. Cle De Peau Concealer “AKA, my complexion magic wand. The texture is creamy enough for the delicate under-eye area, and dense enough to cover any spots or imperfections. It leaves your skin looking absolutely flawless and is a staple in my kit.”
 8. Ardell Knot-Free Individual Lashes “I go through crates and crates of these amazing lashes! They are so natural looking and can be used sparingly for a no makeup look and built up for full on flirty red carpet moment. They instantly elevate any red carpet look and are the most requested product by my clients.”
 9. Dior 5 Couleurs Shadow Palettes “These shadows are so beautiful I almost hate to use them. The colors are to-die-for with rich pigments that blend seamlessly. I struggle editing them down in my kit and usually end up bringing them all.”
 10. Troy Surratt eyelash curler “YES! It DOES make a difference if you curl your lashes — the curler itself is really important. This one fits all eye shapes, creates an amazing long lasting curl and never pinches. It’s a must-have for luscious, flirty lashes.”

Awesome list! Love this post. I’m wondering if Gita has a signature scent or perfume recommendations?
