Beauty Roundup: Catching Some Waves

Details at Louis Vuitton RTW Fall 2017

When I saw this photo from the Louis Vuitton Fall 2017 runway, I thought the dress was pretty. But what I really went bananas over was this HAIR! So even though this girl looks really sad for some reason (despite the fact that she has a super fun job traveling the world and walking the glamorous runways of Paris), she still has the hair of a perfect modern-day urban mermaid and I am all over it. I know we can’t all achieve this look, but here are a few things that can help us at least get a little beachy wave.

For the best curls, my Hollywood hairdresser friend Daniel showed me how to work a curling iron: take one-to-two inch sections and twist them around the barrel WITHOUT closing the clamp thing. He uses something simple yet effective like this.
Davines products all work wonders and smell really good, so why not try the Love shampoo and conditioner that are supposed to enhance the curl?

Devachan knows waves and have come out with a great hair towel that really gets rid of excess moisture that can weigh the hair down as it dries.
You can’t have the right hair when you’ve got too much frizz (unless that’s the look you’re going for, of course.) I’m into this  nourishing treatment that contains tons of amazing-smelling oils like sandalwood and jasmine and doesn’t contain silicone, which actually ends up drying out your hair.

And finally, you can finish it all off with a moisturizing spray with a great name: Marula cocktail mist. It’s got coconut oil as one of the main ingredients and I plan carrying it around and spritzing it on all day long.

I’ve wanted to try one of those anti-frizz hair towels for awhile. Now that I’ve embraced my curl, it’s time to go for it. The Reverie Milk sounds amazing, too!

So funny… This is what we curly- haired girls call a “bad hair day”…

That’s exactly what my hair looks like–with a little help. The Love shampoo and conditioner are good as is the Devachan towel. I also recommend R + Co twister and the Oribe Dry Texture spray! I’ll have to give the other products mentioned a try.

    DevaCurl towels work really well.

Finding someone who knows how to cut to the curl is essential.
