A Trip To Deciem

Yesterday my friend Edie and I had a little date to meet at the new store on Prince Street in New York and we immediately  felt like we were in a different, super cool universe, almost like the beauty equivalent of a Martin Margiela store. Needless to say, we were mesmerized by so much (and we’ve seen everything). There are a lot of brands to digest (some so inexpensive that the prices look like a mistake –like fancy foundation for $6.70?!) and it’s a little confusing — I am going to have to go back several times to soak it all in, but here’s what intrigued us at first sight starting with this serum that makes facial hair grow back way slower. YES PLEASE!

I actually had already picked up Hand Chemistry at Ricky’s and, with regular use, I swear I see a difference.
This giant tub of Conditioner came right home with me — it’s supposed to be good for brown hair and make it just a little thicker. There’s also one for blondes.

How about a $7 deodorant that also inhibits hair regrowth?
I also snagged some Photograhy Foundation  to mix with my tinted moisturizer for maximum glow.
Neck Elasticity Catalyst seems like a dream come true (because really, when you start to notice that you don’t like your neck it’s a real bummer). Hopefully I will be able to tout this in a Best of the Week soon.
This Ayurvedic cleanser is not intended to remove makeup, so you take your makeup off first and then this stays on almost like a mask for five minutes. Sounds like heaven to me.

Here’s my favorite new foundation, which has a serum base and is super light like a tinted moisturizer.

Please do a follow up post on the products you purchased! So interested to hear your experiences – we’re getting a Deciem store in Vancouver soon!

I’m using their Argan, Squalane oils and really like both. The prices are crazy good, I mean, a large fancy coffee costs about the same as my oils.

I’ve also tried the Vit C 23% + HA 2%, too strong for my face (I have occasional eczema) but have been using it on my legs and hands and I believe it’s evening out my skintone.

I just discovered this line–alas, only online for me–and it’s awesome!!! I’ve already noticed a difference with the Neck Elasticity Catalyst. I’m still waiting for my Black Friday products to arrive. The sale was insane.

I tripped over their Black Friday sale last year and I’ve gone back for more. I really like the Hair Is Fabric shampoos, though they are very heavily fragranced. The Marula oil is a steal, as is their AHA/BHA peeling solution. I like both the Hand and the Foot Chemistry and I LOVE the Sanskrit Saponins!

The Serum foundation along with the Photography foundation sound amazing! How can they do this and all of that high-tec skincare so cheaply???

I started using the Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 (for face) and Caffeine Solution 5% (for eye contour) a few weeks ago and LOVE them both. I will definitely be ordering more stuff from Deciem soon!

Went there today and left with 4 products for under $70 – Hyalamide SubQAnti-Age serum and 3 products from The Ordinary – Natural Moisturizing Factors, Rose Hip Seed Oil and Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squaline. If I don’t like a product for any reason, I have 365 days to return it. How could I not try them? I’ll report back and can’t wait to hear what everyone else likes. The store is ultra-cool too!

One of many reasons I’m sad not to live in NYC! Although Sephora is now carrying The Ordinary (at least online) so I will try as soon as I go through my current stash of oils. So, Spring? lol

Are the sales people helpful and knowledgeable at the store? I’ve looked at The Ordinary products several times, intrigued by the affordability and the ability to customize, but even after reading several beauty blog articles about suggested regimens, I’m still confused as to what to get, what to use when (morning, night), etc. I am hoping that in the store the sales associates can help customers weed through the seemingly endless options…?
